Community Health Services Introduces New Agency Brochure

CHARLOTTE, NC, December 17, 2001 -- Community Health Services, Inc., of Charlotte, recently released a new agency brochure that promotes its increased emphasis on advocacy for the medically underserved in the region.

The 6 x 9-inch brochure unfolds to an 18 x 23-inch poster on one side. The poster features a solemn montage of portraits printed as a sepia duotone. A headline reads,"One in 10 people die from limited access to health services."

The brochures were mailed as part of Community Health Services~ annual appeal in December and the posters will be distributed to area churches and community organizations for placement on bulletin boards.

"The brochure cover and poster send a powerful message that despite our living in the most prosperous country in the world, we still have people die because they can~t get access to medical care," said Stern Dixon, MarketComm president. "In the Charlotte region the number is growing and it is estimated that 10% of the population die prematurely because they are excluded from the system for one reason or another."

Community Health Services seeks to provide access to the underserved through improved education, public health nursing, patient advocacy and other means. The organization has operated in Charlotte for nearly 50 years.
