MarketComm Develops Web Copy/Navigation For Freightliner Custom Chassis Site

CHARLOTTE, N.C., May 2, 2000 -- The debut Web site for Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation, set for posting June 1, was planned and written by MarketComm, LLC.

The site features extensive information about the company~s product lines, including chassis for the motor home, walk-in van, school bus, shuttle bus, and heavy-duty tow vehicle markets. There are also several data-driven applications including an easy-to-administer "Company News" application and an interactive "Dealer Locator."

The site is meant to attract a variety of audiences, including dealers, OEMs (original equipment manufacturers), end users and the general public. End users can access a variety of technical information about their chassis from maintenance hints to technical service bulletins.

"This was like building several Web sites in one," said Stern Dixon, MarketComm president. "Each of Freightliner~s product lines is geared to an entirely different audience. Some end users are highly knowledgable, large-scale fleet operators and some, such as motor home buyers, are individuals with limited knowledge of vehicle mechanics. It was a challenge to separate these audiences and write to their level of understanding."

Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation is based in Gaffney, S.C. The company is part of the Portland, Oregon-based Freightliner Corporation, North America~s leader in Class 4-8 truck manufacturing. Freightliner is a Diamler-Chrysler Corporation.
